WHAT IS THE TRANSPORTATION LIKE?




Bluffton is unique charming town located minutes from Hilton Head Island. Bluffton offering true lowcountry living and is the fastest growing town in Beaufort County. Bluffton is different in its own way although only minutes from the tourist area of Hilton Head the question of travel still arise. There are a few travel options to individuals looking to get around in Bluffton or Hilton Head.

Limousine


There are several limousine rentals companies in the Bluffton area that offer stretch limos to regular sedans. Many of the limo companies have a variety of transportation from stretch SUV's, mini busses, passers vans and or course luxury cars. Most people use limousines for special occasions her in the Bluffton area so they are not seen often like in most other areas.
All limousine drivers are professionals, and some will expect a tip for their services. Check with the limo company service to find out about proper limousine rental etiquette.


Rental Cars
There are a number of rental car companies in the Bluffton / Hilton Head area which makes getting a rental car very simple. The majority of the rental car companies are located in the Hilton Head Airport off of Beach City Road in Hilton Head. Renting a car in the BLuffton area is extremely easy as making a call to one of the rent companies or reserving online. Most or the rental car companies are competitive in price ranging from low to high. You are able to rent sedans, sports cars, trucks, SUV’s, vans and more.  Keep in mind that  rental car companies  require a signed contract and proof of license in order to rent a car. Many  Licenses from around the world are acceptable however, if there are any questions you may want to call ahead.


Buses
The buses in the Bluffton area are ran by  Palmetto Breeze  Public Transportation . Palmetto Breeze offer a variety of routes  from many  surrounding areas  and adjoining  counties.  The bus runs on a set schedule which can be found online.


Taxis
There are several taxis available in Bluffton. You are able to find a taxi right outside of the Hilton Head airport or you may call for the service. Because Bluffton is a not like major busy cities most often cabs are called to a location instead of being hailed on the street.
By Foot
There are areas of Bluffton & Hilton Head where walking around  is a real treat.  Take Downtown Bluffton for example the Calhoun Street Promenade  has become a great area for walking as it provided shops and dining.  Other areas that are great for walking is down on Coligny Beach on the South end of Hilton Head.


Driving
Driving around Bluffton is very simple just be sure to follow all the local laws and signs. There have been many accidents on Highway 278 many due to tourist not paying attention to the roadways. Be sure that when driving around Bluffton and or Hilton Head that you are thinking of your safety as well as others and avoid texting and driving.
